Day 179 - Cultural Weirdness

Now I do admit today is cold.   The wind isn't pleasant.  Though after 40 plus years of living in Canada cold...... and Australian cold......   I watch people bundle up and put toques (beanies) on and think well it isn't that cold.   It was so uncool to wear a hat in Canada as a teenager.  Even if it was -20C outside.  I remember wearing the hat at the bus stop and as soon as the bus came into sight you ripped it off so you weren't seen with it on.  So wearing this above garb in Australia is normal but for me with the green grass behind me it is so weird.   And well frankly I was already boiling.   Though I remember going home and having our first Christmas in Canada when Owen was almost 3.  He screamed bloody murder if we put him down in the snow.   Poor thing had never seen it before.   Wow the stories we all have.  Makes for incredibly interesting people doesn't it.
