Family Day Long Weekend in Montreal - Feb 2018

Started off this week with Valentine's Day and spoilage from the grandparents! xx
Still some snow around before rain set in.

We decided to go to Montreal, Quebec for the long four day weekend.  We started off visiting Au Sommet the tallest skyscraper in Montreal that cannot be taller then Mount Royale.  Great 365 views of the city.

Lots of walking around Montreal looking at buildings
 Views from Mount Royale park
Poutine comes in many different flavours.  We had regular, bacon topped and butter chicken topped.
 Icy sidewalks
Miss judging how strong snowbanks were and boot fulls of snow.
This stone tower was build in 1647 at the Montreal college where Louis Riel studied.  Amazing to see all the history of this city.  1674, building with 1789 on them 1883 and 1914.  It has some amazing architecture.

We visited a museum that showed us the underground history and building that were around in the 1640's.   This tunnel used to be a small river that flowed into the St. Lawrence and traders would canoe down it.  Then they used it for water system, moved on to a sewer system and now it is a museum tour.  There is still water that runs down it.

First Week of February

A certain fellow turned 81 years young.
Family went to Toronto for the Saturday.  Saw Fort York where the battle of 1812 took place.  Freezed our bottoms off walking around looking at the Toronto Light Display in the Distillery District.  Had some great food at Spaghetti House to celebrate finishing up Semester 1 in High school.
